1. Crude Oil atmospheric Distillation Unit CDU.

The atmospheric distillation unit is one of the main starting points in crude oil refining. In this module, participants learn how crude oil is received, heated, desalted, and separated into different fractions under atmospheric pressure. The training explains the purpose of each stage, from preheating and pre-flash systems to the main fractionation tower and product rundown. This helps learners understand how the CDU creates the first major product splits and supports the rest of the refinery process.

After atmospheric distillation, heavier crude fractions often move to the vacuum distillation unit for further separation. This module explains how vacuum conditions allow heavy hydrocarbons to be processed at lower effective temperatures, reducing thermal cracking risk and improving separation. Participants learn the logic behind preheating, flash stages, vacuum tower operation, stripper towers, and vacuum generation systems. The module gives a practical understanding of how valuable heavier products are recovered and prepared for downstream refining units.

The gasoline unit brings together several important refining steps used to produce a marketable gasoline product. Participants learn how naphtha streams are treated, split, upgraded, and stabilized through units such as hydrotreating, isomerization, reforming, and final product finishing. The training explains how light and heavy naphtha are handled differently and why hydrogen circulation and separation are important in the process. This module helps learners understand how gasoline quality, composition, and final product preparation are managed inside the refinery.

The oxidation unit focuses on converting feed material under controlled thermal and air-injection conditions to produce the required oxidized product. In this module, participants learn how feed preparation, reactor operation, heating systems, and off-gas handling work together inside the unit. Special attention is given to temperature control, pressure stability, and product discharge. The training helps learners understand why oxidation must be carefully managed and how this unit fits into refinery production where controlled reaction conditions are essential for quality and safety.

This part introduces the knock out drum and flare system as important safety and handling elements in oil production facilities. Participants learn how unwanted gas and liquids are managed, why pressure relief systems matter, and how the flare system supports safe plant operation. It builds practical awareness of production safety and process protection.

 

The Merox unit is used to improve product quality by treating hydrocarbon streams and reducing mercaptan-related issues. This module explains how feed preparation, caustic washing, extraction, oxidation, air injection, and phase separation work together to produce a sweetened final product. Participants gain a practical understanding of why mercaptan removal matters, how chemical treatment supports fuel quality, and how the Merox process improves product acceptability. The module is especially useful for understanding refinery treating operations and product quality improvement systems.
